How to Clean Your Silicone Bakeware
There are many great benefits of using silicone bakeware in your kitchen. Silicone is affordable, easy to use, and it evenly cooks the contents within the bakeware. However, there is one drawback that many people have found with using silicone bake ware. Sticky film can begin to build up over time. However there are steps that can be taken to remove this sticky build up and restore your silicone bakeware back to its original state without having any adverse effects with the non-stick properties within the bakeware itself.
Oil and grease that has been baked onto the surface of the bakeware over time builds up when used at high temperatures. Even after continuous hand washings, over time this sticky residue can become unsightly, leaving you with the choice to either replace the bakeware or find another solution. The other solution will include a step by step cleaning regimen you must follow in order to get your silicone bakeware looking like new once again.
First you will want to use grease cutting liquid dish soap and a non-abrasive scrubbing brush. Next, rinse the bake ware while feeling for any sticky residue still present. If you should feel any sticky film still present, use baking soda and pour it everywhere on the surface were the residue is found. You will want to gently scrub the baking soda into the surface of the bakeware until a paste is created. Finally allow several hours for the paste to dry and then repeat the first step. Rinse the silicone bakeware once again and continue the process until the silicone bakeware is cleaned completely.
