What are the various uses of silicone rubber compounds? 

Silicone rubber compounds have many uses and can be used for cooking, baking and food storage items, clothing and footwear, electronics, cable and wire insulation, medical equipment and more!

What are the differences between silicone rubber and silicone?

Both elastomers, silicone rubber and rubber have the ability to stretch, springing back to their original shape. Rubber is natural with moderate heat resistance, and poor chemical resistance and is not flame retardant. Silicone rubber is synthetic and therefore, has excellent heat and chemical resistance and is fully flame retardant.

Are there any disadvantages to using silicone rubber?

The only disadvantage to using silicone rubber is that it has a lower tear resistance than natural rubber.
